Our festival venue is a rural-development oriented, community-based, private composite-farm, called B.A.B.L.I (http://babli.org/), located about 165 Km away from Kolkata (c.190 Km by the Highway route), 13 Km to the west of the famous Indian University town, Shantiniketan (Railhead: Bolpur-Shantiniketan), B.A.B.L.I is bordered by a serene, non-touristy Bengal village on one side, and the Ilambazar Reserve Forest on the other. You can sample some of the farm produce that Babli grows, subject to their seasonal availability. To know more, please visit Babli's official site. http://babli.org/
Within the festival campus we have two kinds of accommodation.
Guests can also bring their own provisions. As the season will be relatively cold, hot water (in buckets) will be available against a nominal charge. Those who are interested to bring and set up their own tents will need to pitch them on their own in our designated camp area. Guests can also be accommodated outside the festival campus within walking distance. Drop back from venue will be arranged post 10 pm. Day guests are also welcome. For more details click on the Packages tab.
For residential packages, 3 meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner are included with your package. In the meals, there will be both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. In addition there will be snacks & drink stalls in the festival premise. All snacks and drinks can be purchased at the festival venue for a nominal price. As the venue is not well connected with the nearest town, access to outside food is not a very convenient option unless one has one's own car. We are organizing delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian snacks to be available at the venue during festival hours.
There are two primary ways of reaching B.A.B.L.I . If you are coming from Kolkata, you can take any train going to Bolpur/Shantiniketan from the Howrah or Saldah railway station. From Bolpur station, you can avail of the festival transport to reach B.A.B.L.I . Transport from Bolpur station to B.A.B.L.I may or may not be included in the package depending on which category of package you hold. Please check the Packages section for more details. Second option is to drive down from Kolkata to B.A.B.L.I . We would be glad to provide you assistance with arranging vehicles etc. If you need help, please write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you plan to drive your own vehicle from Kolkata to B.A.B.L.I , detailed driving direction can be found at http://babli.org/location. For guests who are coming from other parts of the country, consider getting off at Bardhaman Junction station and arranging for a transport from there to B.A.B.L.I . Please write to us for assistance.
